looking for hmnzs waikato crew from gulf patrl 1982 with hms alacrity

hi my name is charlie broadhead i served on hms alacrity during the falklands war, ater the war we went on gulf patrol with the waikato and visited places like diego garcia with you guys i am looking for a few friens that served on there,especially from the pos mess please help

Hi Charlie, I was on Waikato on both the 82 and 83 Indian Ocean trips. I was an AB (RP)at the time so I did not get to rub shoulders with too many PO's from Alacrity, but I recall getting horribly sick at the British Club ? in Diego Garcia with some sailors off Alacrity, it must have been that last cucumber sandwich mixing with the beer !!!  I'm saddened that no one has replied to your post. Have you googled the HMNZS Waikato web site ? I remember drinking with the guys off HMS Aurora as well (Ikara Leander), what a great crew on both ships we did the Gulf Patrols with. I plan to scan a few old photos soon and try and upload them on the Waikato website.  Good luck with the search.  Bill
