:)Hi - Jim Dell here, speaking on behalf of the committee. The Combined Ships Reunion held in Dunedin over the Easter Weekend of 2008, went very well. It started off with registrations at the Dunedin RSA/RN Association/United club rooms on Easter Friday. Saturday saw the majority of the veterans heading off on three different mystery bus trips, culminating in a dine and dance at a Dunedin venue later in the day. Sunday was a day of remembrance, starting with a march from the Dunedin Railway Station and ending up at the RNZNVR headquarters, HMNZS Toroa. Here, we had a church service, followed by "Up Spirits" and the official photos. The weekend finished off on the Monday with some of the Veterans taking the Taieri Gorge rail trip to Middlemarch. Interesting to note that some of the veterans were in their 90's, some of whom had served on HMNZ ships Achilles, Leander, Arabis and Gambia. A great weekend.
