Searching for Pics and Info on John "Jack" Heron

Hello,

I was wondering if you could please help me in tracking down some information or photos on my grandfather or maybe point me in the right direction :-)  His name is John Heron but my mum (his daughter Linda) tells me that he was known as Jack. He joined the RNZN in 1950 as a stoker and was discharged in 1970. He was also posted to the ships Philomel, Rotoiti, Bellona, Black Prince, Lachlan, Tamaki, Otago & Taranaki. I would love to find some pictures of him or just info on what he was like. Mum only has one picture of him and that is of him in uniform. Any help would be greatly appreciated or even just info on where I could start - as I live in Australia I cant regulary come back to New Zealand :-)
Thank you so much in advance for your help.

Regards,
Natalie Keane

Here is a picture of my poppa. This was taken in 1952. He was also posted on the Royalist and served in the Korean War. Thank you in advance for any help  :D

Wasn't there a Jack Heron as a 'Jossman'?

I know this might sound silly but what is a Jossman?  :-[
If this helps he was promoted to Master At Arms in 1962.
I just answered my own question didn't I :-)
