Hello members
A quick update on whats happening over next few weeks:

Our Christmas Raffle is selling well, thanks to everyone who have bought
tickets and those helping with manning the table at supermarkets etc.
Committee member Marj Morgan has been busy getting everyone
organised and taking table and chairs to the right place!

The HMNZS ROTOITI ship visit today was very interesting with 15 members
looking over her, below and above decks and we were all supplied with ear
plugs to go through the engine room. An unexpected gift from the C.O. and
crew was a ship's crest, which we will put up in the SCRSA's 'Navy Corner'
(when we get one)

This Sunday in Christchurch Cathedral 1000 8th November, annual Seafarers
Service for anyone heading that way. Addington Brass band will be playing.

Next week, Wednesday 11th is Armistice Day and an evening service is being
held at 1930 in St Mary's. If any members are attending, medals are to be worn.
We shall lay a wreath on behalf of the RNZN at the service.

CHRISTCHURCH SHOW DAY this year is on Fri. 13th Nov. (Please drive with extra
care on this day!)

RNZNA Canterbury Branch's CHRISTMAS DINNER is being held at the New Brighton
Working Mens club on Thursday Dec 3rd, assemble 1700-1800. Please contact me
for details and booking.

Our next Quarterly Get-together is at the SCRSA Friday Dec. 4th. Meet around 1700.

Another CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON, this time it's the turn of the RNZNA Christchurch
and Papanui branches on Sunday 6th Dec. at the Papanui RSA. Please contact me
for details etc

Regards
